RADIANT BARRIER INSULATION

Do you need to re-insulate your attic? Radiant barrier insulation and low-e reflective coatings increase your home's ability to reflect the sun's energy, which keeps your home cooler in the summer. Radiant barrier insulation installation most effective in reducing heat absorbed into locations like your attic.

In order for a radiant barrier insulation to be considered effective, the foil material must allow less than 10% of the radiant heat to pass through it. With low-e reflective coating, effectiveness is achieved when less than 25% of radiant heat passes through it.

Any home can benefit from having radiant barrier installed, but particularly homes with:

  • Little or no attic insulation (or insulation that has aged considerably)
  • Extremely hot rooms on the second floor
  • Asphalt shingle roofing
  • Little or no shading from trees
  • Air ducts in the attic
"Very pleased with product. Noticed a big difference right after installation was completed. Great job."

Benefits of Radiant Barrier Insulation Installation

Like other types of insulation, radiant barrier helps reduce your energy costs and makes your home more comfortable, helping it stay much cooler in the summer. Other benefits of radiant barrier installation include:

  • Protection against fungi and bacteria growth and insect damage
  • Little maintenance
  • Heat retention in the winter

Radiant barrier insulation is typically installed in attics and reduces heat coming in through your roof. How does it do this? Radiant barrier increases your home's ability to reflect energy from the sun, rather than absorb it. You'll feel the difference during those hot summer months in particular – the second level of your home will be much more comfortable.
